As a Client Development Advisor, you will work closely with McKinsey client team leaders, SAP executives, and 3rd parties to expand the firm’s impact at the intersection of SAP Supply Chain Management (SCM) and our Operations Practice. You will engage with alliance and integration partners as needed, driving joint client development and expanding pipeline management across all relevant domains.
In this role you will primarily be focused on business development, all activities that occur before a client has decided to move ahead with a consulting engagement, and proposal delivery, which typically begins with a request for proposal (RFP) and concludes with proposal submission. You may also support teams as needed during ongoing digital supply chain transformations.
You will establish relationships with senior leaders at SAP SCM and client organizations to develop account plans and shape and drive the opportunity pipeline, gather information about opportunities where McKinsey may be suited to compete. You will work closely with client team leaders on opportunities, making recommendations on how they can more effectively develop business with SAP SCM offerings. Other responsibilities may include attending conferences and industry events where SAP SCM is relevant, establishing relationships with system integrators or other consultancies with whom McKinsey might partner in opportunity development / delivery.
In proposal delivery, your responsibilities will include thoroughly understanding the objectives and specifications outlined in the RFP, assessing success factors for winning the engagement, understanding the competitive landscape, and working collaboratively with team members to ensure that the proposal reflects deep client engagement. Furthermore, your role involves creating detailed work plans and coordinating resources to produce high-quality proposals within required deadlines. Frequently you will take the lead in delivering content or expertise directly to clients.
Your role will initially focus on the blockbuster offering of SAP Integrated Business Planning and expand into other capabilities in the SAP SCM portfolio as we build our track record and capabilities (e.g., Ariba, Enterprise Asset Management, Supply Chain Orchestration, Transportation Management). As you mature in the role, you will cultivate and upskill a core group of high-performing colleagues who can scale the approach to other SCM offerings, use cases, and value propositions. You will help build the practice infrastructure needed to streamline partnering and ensure success including developing performance and health metrics, establishing top-to-top review routines, and setting up standard contractual arrangements for smooth proposal and delivery processes.
Beyond your core responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to shape the firm’s offerings, support innovation in client development, and participate in activities such as recruiting and training. In all aspects of your work, you will play a key role in helping the firm grow and succeed by building strong client relationships and delivering exceptional value.
You will be based in on of our European Offices and will work closely with our EU + Global Operations Practice leaders developing opportunities in Europe and globally.
There is a flexibility to hire at Client Development Advisor or Senior Client Development Advisor, depending on your experience.
