Clinician-Scientist (all genders) – Neuroimmunological Research
Join the Universitätsklinikum Hamburg Eppendorf as a clinician scientist focused on Translational Neuroimmunology. You will conduct independent research in a leading European university hospital, building a career in academic medicine.
Main tasks
As a clinician scientist, you will pursue a research project in Translational Neuroimmunology, exploring immunological dysregulation, neurobiological consequences, and personalized treatment of neuroinflammatory diseases such as multiple sclerosis. The institute focuses on both basic and clinical aspects, and the work language in the laboratories is English with German in clinical care.
Your Tasks
- Work on a research project in translational neuroimmunology.
- Develop independent research strategies and carry them out.
Profile
- Completed medical degree with license to practice and a doctorate.
- Knowledge in neurobiology, immunology, or neuroimmunology; evidence of scientific achievements through publications (preferably first authorships).
- Advantageous: postdoctoral experience at a neurobiological or immunological research institution; bioinformatics skills; participation in clinical trials or epidemiological studies.
- Very good written and spoken English; proficiency in MS Office.
- Strong scientific interest in molecular and cellular biology or in clinical and rehabilitative studies within translational neuroimmunology.
- Ability to work in a team and to work purposefully on projects.

Immunity Status
Employment is contingent upon proof of immunization or immunity against the measles virus, per legal and medical requirements. A vaccination certificate must be provided before employment begins.
