Calypso Commodities builds AI-driven optimisation software for LNG scheduling, trading, and shipping. We work with LNG portfolio players (majors, utilities, trading houses, hedge funds) and help them make faster, better decisions — improving P&L and reducing emissions. We’re founder‑led on sales today. We’re now hiring our first commercial leader to own the most important mission: convert existing pilot customers into full‑time customers .

Your Mission (first 6‑12 months)
- Own pilot conversions end‑to‑end: success plan, stakeholder mapping, daily value proof of our X‑LNG software product with LNG trading and shipping desks.
- Spend significant time with LNG trading desks and shipping/ops teams: understand workflows, constraints, and decision logic.
- Run recurring working sessions with pilot clients (desk + ops + risk + IT), and keep momentum high.
- Identify “conversion blockers” early (data, integration, usability, trust, internal alignment) and remove them at the client’s desk.
- Build and communicate the value of X‑LNG and business case to customer management: ROI narratives, decision memos, and exec updates.
- Translate desk feedback into crisp product requirements and priorities for our dev team (20 FTE). → “What to ship next week to unlock conversion.”
- Drive a tight weekly operating cadence: customer touchpoints, progress tracking, and clear internal communication.
- Lead and manage our commercial analysts and intern team (5–6) supporting commercial work (research, notes, follow‑ups, materials, data).
- Work side by side with LNG traders and shipping operators (clients) to jointly model their daily trading decisions and operations.
Mission mid‑term: 12‑24 months
- Lead full commercial team across products, own customer pipelines across regions.
- Engage with new customers, create and hunt for new business opportunities.
- Shape the leading LNG optimisation software, being the translator between LNG trading desks and our developer team.
- Lead project teams, both for modelling projects and consulting projects in LNG trading and shipping.
You're a strong fit if you have
- Deep LNG/commodities credibility : you’ve worked on or very close to an LNG trading desk, shipping/scheduling, portfolio analytics, or you’ve sold into that environment and can speak the "LNG language" fluently.
- A track record converting pilots / proofs‑of‑concept into annual/enterprise contracts (B2B SaaS, analytics, optimisation tools, ETRM‑adjacent is a plus).
- Nice to have: either LNG background (trading, shipping, ops) or ETRM / Software / Data background.
- Strong stakeholder management across LNG traders, shipping, analysts, IT, and leadership.
- Product instincts: you can turn fuzzy feedback into clear requirements and prioritise ruthlessly.
- Ownership mindset: you’re comfortable being the first commercial hire and building the cadence from scratch.
- You value an in‑person office culture and are willing to work in our Berlin Office full‑time.
