The Firm

A leading international contractor specialising in data centre and complex industrial construction projects across Europe. Known for delivering large-scale, mission‑critical developments with a strong focus on quality, compliance, and technical excellence.

The Team

You will join a specialist compliance function supporting major live construction projects in Berlin and surroundings. The environment is fast‑paced and collaborative, with close interaction between construction, engineering, commercial, and quality teams, as well as external authorities and consultants.

The Role

• Ensuring projects comply with German building laws, regulations, and regional authority requirements
• Managing compliance with building permits, fire protection concepts, and technical approvals
• Coordinating with certified inspectors and expert assessors for legal sign‑off of systems
• Tracking and resolving defects and compliance issues through to completion
• Liaising with local authorities, fire departments, and environmental agencies
• Supporting submission of construction notifications, approvals, and operational permits
• Conducting regular site inspections and maintaining compliance documentation
• Supporting internal teams on compliance processes and requirements
• Ensuring completed projects meet both regulatory and client operational standards

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of German construction regulations and permitting processes
• Experience working with authorities, inspectors, and regulatory bodies
• Understanding of compliance frameworks and environmental regulations (e.g. BImSchG)
• Strong reporting, documentation, and organisational skills
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders across complex projects
• Fluent in German and English

Experience

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Law, or similar
• 5+ years’ experience in compliance, permitting, or regulatory roles
• Experience on complex construction or infrastructure projects (data centres preferred)
• Proven track record managing projects from permitting through to completion
• Technical understanding of building systems (MEP, fire protection) is advantageous
