About the project/Role description

The project is planning the expansion of the existingHamburg Refinery, by adding the following process units and facilities: HVOUnit, pre-treatment Unit, tank farm balance (tanks partially supplied byothers), interconnecting lines, new electrical substation and rack room,interconnecting cables between new substation building and existingsubstation and control room.

Each Supervisor reportsto the Construction Manager.

They directSubcontractor activities for electrical engineering, ensuring that PlantConstruction works are performed according to the erection schedules andProject documents, within the assigned cost budget, and according to Quality& Safety procedures, as well as according to the terms and conditions ofthe subcontract.

One or more assistantsto whom they may delegate some functions, may support them.

Duties and responsibilities

• Prior to the startof works, to check the Supplier’s material and technical documentationdelivery schedule. Check that the same is in line with Constructionschedules and contractual commitments;
• To check that thesaid schedule is kept to, and to promote action to recover any delay;
• To check that theequipment and manpower employed by the Subcontractor are adequate andthat the works performed by the Subcontractor conform to designdocuments, Safety regulations, and to the Quality level fixed by thesame;
• To prepare the non-conformity register for each Subcontractor and co-ordinatenon-conformity resolution;
• To detect anydesign errors, and where possible rectify the same or request the SiteEngineer to make the necessary changes;
• To checkSubcontractors’ work progress status sheets and sign the same forapproval;
• To assist theContract Engineer in defining new prices, in preparing amendments tosubcontracts and in analysing and discussing claims.

Person Specification

Knowledge &Qualifications

• University Degreeor Diploma in relevant discipline or equivalent

Experience

• Similar rolecovered at least in last three projects of comparable size;
• Proven pastexperience on electrical supervision activities;
• Strong knowledge ofSPMAT (Marian);
• Relevant experiencein construction/modernisation of industrial/Refinery sector/EPC projectslarge plants;
• At least 5 years ofexperience in the specific discipline;
• Experience workingon Contractor side.
