Construction Supervisor HVDC

Spencer Ogden is supporting the delivery of a key infrastructure project and is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer / Construction Supervisor to oversee structural and civil works on‑site at a major substation development in southern Germany.

This is a site‑based role requiring continuous on‑site presence, offering the opportunity to play a critical role in the successful execution of a high‑profile energy project.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate planning activities and prepare construction phases
• Supervise on‑site works to ensure compliance with design specifications and local regulations
• Enforce occupational health & safety standards and environmental requirements
• Conduct quality assurance to ensure alignment between execution and design
• Manage and document defects, ensuring timely resolution
• Coordinate multiple construction disciplines and trades on‑site
• Oversee scheduling, workflows, and construction timelines
• Ensure adherence to project deadlines and milestones
• Identify, document, and escalate deviations and potential variation claims
• Participate in site meetings, inspections, and acceptance procedures
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date site diaries
• Start Date: 15 April 2026
• End Date: 31 October 2026
• Working Hours: 40–45 hours per week
• Additional Info: Saturday work may be required as part of a site rotation system

Requirements

• Several years of experience in construction and project management, ideally within civil engineering or infrastructure projects
• Previous substation project experience is advantageous
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline
• Strong ability to work in demanding, complex project environments
• Excellent coordination and stakeholder management skills
• Electrical engineering knowledge is beneficial
• Fluency in German (project communication is conducted in German)
