Job Description
- Preparation of the accounting for specific parts of the Annual Report and contact for internal and external auditors
- Handling of Annual, Quarterly, Monthly and case‑related accounting issues including coordination for required input
- Prepare and execute advice and direct internal stakeholders to act in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for external reporting and apply basic accounting principles and internal guidelines
- Subject matter expert for complex accounting issues and technical consultant for other colleagues
- Updates of the Accounting Guidelines (Financial Reporting Manual) and Definition of Group Accounting Policies
- Continuous monitoring of accounting standards regarding legal requirements or internal issues
- Implementation of new IASB standards. Collaboration with group auditors
- Provide trainings on accounting issues
- Participation in projects, in particular M&A projects or implementation of new accounting standards
Qualifications
- University degree in Economics with a focus on Finance and Accounting
- Profound professional experience at an accounting firm or in the financial and accounting department of an industrial company
- Certified Public Accountant (German Wirtschaftsprüfer) exam recommended
- Several years of professional experience with the preparation of consolidated financial statements
- Profound knowledge of German GAAP (HGB)
- Project management experience preferably in the field of accounting (e.g. new IFRS implementation, compliance with regulatory standards, etc.)
- Business fluent English and German language skills (written and spoken)
- Intercultural sensitivity and very good cross‑culture communication and understanding
