Customs Specialist (f/m/d)

We are looking for a motivated Customs Specialist (f/m/d) to join our team in the German Headquarters in Wuppertal.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of customs declarations for import and export.
• Reviewing customs invoices and tax assessments from external service providers.
• Communicating with internal business units, suppliers, forwarders, consignees, and warehouse operators.
• Preparing all customs-related documents and supporting internal and external audits.
• Providing customs advice and support to business units and group companies.
• Communicating with customs authorities.

Qualifications

• Completed vocational training as a freight forwarding agent or industrial clerk, or a degree in business administration, finance, or a related field, with professional experience in customs or supply‑chain management.
• Experience with customs procedures, the Union Customs Code (UCC), and other EU regulations.
• Experience with special economic procedures, private international law (PIL), and international private international law (IPR).
• Sound knowledge of Dakosy GE, MS Office, and SAP R/3 & GTS (Global Trade System).
• Analytical thinking and quick comprehension.
• Flexibility, resilience, and the ability to concentrate.
• Organizational skills, reliability, and the ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Very good written and spoken German skills and good English skills.
