About The Role As a Data Engineer (DE) at Planet, you will design and build enterprise ETL pipelines and self-service data tooling using modern cloud technologies. You will work closely with various stakeholders to understand their needs and to deliver robust, flexible solutions and clear insights to meet those needs. You will build data solutions, i.e. architecture, implementation, CI/CD and orchestration of pipelines, QA, visualization and effective data communication. You’ll be part of the Data Team within the Software Engineering organization, which is made up of data scientists, engineers and analysts working on similar tasks across Planet domains. This is a full-time, hybrid role which will require you to work from our Berlin office 3 days per week. Impact You’ll Own Develop robust, accurate data pipelines as well as maintain, troubleshoot, and improve existing ones Deliver self-service data tooling, visualizations and insights needed to drive decision making and monitoringCollaborate with stakeholders, your manager and peersProvide technical design feedback and code reviews for peers within your team What You Bring 4+ years of relevant experience Bachelors’ degree in a relevant field Experience in Python and SQL ETL pipelinesExperience with maintaining peer-reviewed code, building and debugging CI/CD pipelinesFamiliar with cloud architectures and services, such as Google Cloud Platform (preferred) or AWSFamiliar with geospatial datasets and event-based data architecturesAbility to communicate and collaborate across teamsGood organizational skills, ability to execute multiple projects What Makes You Stand Out Familiar with the modern data stack: Fivetran, dbt, Looker/Omni/Sigma, or similarExperience with monitoring and observability tools like Datadog, Grafana, or equivalentKnowledge of earth observation and/or satellite operation concepts Application Deadline: February 9th, 2026, 23:59 Benefits While Working At Planet These offerings are dependent on employment type and geographical location, based upon applicable law or company policy.
