JD.com is seeking a skilled and experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to join our infrastructure team based in London. You will be responsible for designing, operating, and optimizing our database infrastructure to support scalable, high‑performance, and highly available systems. The cross‑functional partnering teams are local technical teams and technical teams in China.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic design and optimization of scalable, high-performance database architectures for diverse business needs (e.g., MySQL, Redis, TiDB).
- Own day-to-day database operations across MySQL, Redis, TiDB, ensuring stability, performance, security, and smooth lifecycle management under high concurrency.
- Build and enhance end-to-end monitoring and alerting solutions using tools like Prometheus and Grafana to enable rapid detection and resolution of issues.
- Lead cross-platform database migrations and data synchronization initiatives, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and minimal service impact.
- Continuously explore emerging database technologies and share best practices through internal knowledge-sharing and documentation.
- Work closely with engineering, product, and DevOps teams to resolve database-related challenges and support project delivery.
Minimal Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of professional DBA experience in internet or technology-driven environments, with hands‑on experience in both on‑premises and cloud database systems.
- In-depth knowledge of mainstream database platforms (e.g., MySQL, Redis, TiDB), including internal architecture and advanced performance tuning techniques.
- Proficient in scripting and automation using Python, Golang, and/or Shell.
- Proven ability to design, deploy, and optimize database monitoring and observability systems independently.
- Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English.

- Basic front-end development skills.
- Work experience in large-scale multinational tech companies.
- Experience in e-commerce industry in Europe.
