We are now looking for a Data Engineer in Germany to join our fairly new team in a start‑up style atmosphere with Nordic based work culture. We have offices in Munich and Berlin, and have a hybrid work type, made according to your own needs.

We have more than 200 data specialists, and our knowledge portfolio contains a variety of data-related specialisations involving data solutions in almost all technologies, both in the cloud and otherwise. In Solita, you will be part of a team that is courageous and passionate, but at the same time easy‑going.

As a Senior Data Engineer & Databricks Specialist, you will have these Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement multi‑hop pipeline architectures using Databricks Lakehouse.
• Optimize Apache Spark workloads for performance and scalability.
• Build robust ETL pipelines and data models using SQL and/or Python and Scala.
• Lead client workshops to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
• Act as a trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring best practices and successful delivery.
• Share expertise with internal teams and clients, fostering adoption of Databricks best practices.
• Develop reusable frameworks and documentation for future projects.

What do we wish for you to have?

• 4+ years in data engineering and 5+ years in consulting roles.
• Deep hands‑on experience with Apache Spark and Databricks.
• Familiarity with multi‑hop pipeline architecture in Databricks.
• Experience with big data engines like Spark, Hadoop, Flink and Presto.
• Proficiency in SQL. Also in Python and Scala as a plus.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP) and their data services.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and whiteboarding skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value.
• Fluent in English and in German
