Databricks Specialist (Senior Solutions Consultant)

Solita, a digital transformation company driven by data and human insight, is looking for a Senior Data Engineer & Databricks Specialist. The role is based in Germany, with offices in Munich and Berlin, and offers hybrid work.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement multi‑hop pipeline architectures using Databricks Lakehouse.
• Optimize Apache Spark workloads for performance and scalability.
• Build robust ETL pipelines and data models using SQL and/or Python and Scala.
• Deliver production‑grade solutions across multiple projects leveraging Databricks.
• Lead client workshops to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
• Act as a trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring best practices and successful delivery.
• Share expertise with internal teams and clients, fostering adoption of Databricks best practices.
• Develop reusable frameworks and documentation for future projects.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in data engineering and 5+ years in consulting roles.
• Proven track record delivering 2–3 Databricks projects end‑to‑end.
• Deep hands‑on experience with Apache Spark and Databricks.
• Familiarity with multi‑hop pipeline architecture in Databricks.
• Experience with big data engines like Spark, Hadoop, Flink and Presto.
• Proficiency in SQL; experience with Python and Scala is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their data services.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and whiteboarding skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value.
• Fluent in English and German.
