We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Demand Planning and Supply Chain Coordinator to support our DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) region. In this role you will ensure accurate demand forecasts, seamless product lifecycle execution, excellent customer service collaboration, and optimized inventory levels to drive service performance and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Demand Planning – Generate baseline forecasts using historical sales data, market trends, and statistical models for specific categories or regions.
- Weekly and monthly discipline meetings – Lead demand review meetings with Sales and Marketing to enrich the forecast with market intelligence (promotions, competitor activity, seasonality).
- Accuracy Improvement – Monitor forecast accuracy and bias KPIs; conduct root‑cause analysis on significant variances to continuously improve forecast quality.
- Data hygiene – Maintain master data integrity regarding product hierarchies and customer groupings to ensure robust reporting.
- Portfolio Management (Lifecycle) – New Product Introductions (NPI): act as the supply chain lead for all new launches, collaborating with Marketing to size launch volumes and build ramp‑up forecasts based on distribution targets.
- Transitions & Relaunches – Manage the phase‑in/phase‑out process for product updates to minimize business disruption and ensure a smooth shelf transition.
- Discontinuations (Delists) – Proactively identify “tail” products and coordinate discontinuations to minimize the risk of obsolescence (SLOBs – Slow Moving & Obsolete stock).
- SKU Rationalization – Regularly review portfolio complexity and recommend optimisations to commercial leadership.
- Customer service and O2I – Coordinate claims, handle complaints in an effective and timely manner, arrange logistics when needed; coordinate order processing, ensuring delivery from entry to delivery, promptly addressing discrepancies or issues.
- 3PL Specialist – Inventory alignment: partner with Central Supply Planners to translate demand plan into replenishment orders for the local warehouse; monitor weeks of coverage (WOC) and safety stock levels; ensure stock reporting from local warehouse; planning parameters review (MOQ, RV, TDOS).
Qualifications
Education / Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in logistics or other relevant field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in demand planning, inventory control and logistics.
- Must be fluent in English (both spoken and written); knowledge of German is preferred.
Expected areas of knowledge, skills and abilities:
- General knowledge of end‑to‑end business processes, logistics processes from picking through delivery and billing, order entry and its impact, promotional executions, trade fairs and related administrative work.
- Analytical skills, initiative, self‑motivation, excellent judgment and communication skills; multitasking ability.
- Cross‑functional Supply Chain Experience; familiarity with SAP R/3 or S/4 is a must; SAP APO or Kinaxis is preferred.
- Confidence to challenge the status quo and promote new and better processes through influencing people at all levels.
- Computer literacy in Google Suite or Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint).
