Role Overview

We are looking for a highly analytical and adaptable professional to strengthen our planning and forecasting capabilities. In this role, you will own the development and optimization of forecasting models, improve planning processes for efficiency and accuracy, and provide ad‑hoc analyses to support operational decision‑making. Your work will ensure that planning remains closely connected to real business dynamics, bridging strategic foresight with operational insights. Collaboration with the core business units (Markets, Supply, Finance, Onsite and Data) will be your daily business.

Location & Work Model

This position is based in Munich, one of Germany’s most dynamic business hubs. We are looking for a candidate who is either already located in the Munich area or willing to relocate. The role offers flexibility through a hybrid work model: while regular on‑site presence is essential for collaboration and alignment with key stakeholders, remote work is possible for part of the week.

Key Responsibilities

Forecasting & Planning

• Enhance and maintain Python‑based forecasting models to improve accuracy and scalability.
• Develop robust frameworks for demand and marketing KPI forecasting, including validation and error tracking.
• Optimize planning and forecasting processes to reduce cycle time and increase reliability, for long and mid‑term customer planning as well as our recurring monthly forecasts.

Operational Analytics

• Conduct ad‑hoc analyses to support day‑to‑day performance management and identify business opportunities.
• Translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations for stakeholders across marketing and other business units.

Data Engineering & Automation

• Implement automation for recurring reports and workflows using Python and SQL (dbt modelling).
• Ensure data integrity and consistency across planning and operational reporting systems.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

• Act as an interface between Planning, Marketing, Supply, Markets, and Data teams to ensure alignment between forecasts and business objectives.

Profile & Requirements

• Degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field.

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in forecasting, business planning, or analytics roles.
• Proven expertise in Python‑based forecast modelling.
• Strong experience with SQL‑driven data analysis.
• Experience in e‑commerce industry is a plus.

Technical Skills

• Advanced Python skills including data wrangling, statistical modelling, and production‑level code development (modular, maintainable, and scalable).
• Strong understanding of time series modelling techniques (ARIMA, Prophet, gradient boosting, etc.) including feature engineering, model selection and validation, and performance tracking.
• Advanced SQL for performant data extraction and transformation, experience with dpt is a plus.
• Familiarity with BI tools (like Power BI) and cloud‑based data platforms is a plus.

Analytical & Cognitive Skills

• Excellent logical and spatial reasoning abilities.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset with the ability to adapt quickly to new challenges.

Soft Skills

• Clear and structured communication with different stakeholder groups.
• Ability to manage priorities and deliver under time constraints.
• Team‑oriented with willingness to share knowledge and support colleagues.
• Proficiency in English in both oral and written form.
