About Working at envelio

Too easy is boring! Together, we are on a mission to drive forward the energy transition. We love what we do, and we are unafraid to dive in. We believe in taking ownership of our work and in continuously growing and evolving. In short: own it, love it, grow with it. We are a humble team of coffee and maté lovers with over 20 nationalities. With our geek humor, our love for emojis and random facts is only natural. Over 130 envelians are already on board. Dive in and thrive!

Your Role

As a Design Operations Manager , you'll play an essential role at envelio and take on significant responsibility for the strategy, development, and scalability of our design system. You'll work at the interface between our Product Design, Localization, and Engineering teams to ensure that our products offer a consistent, high-quality user experience and can be developed efficiently.

Your main responsibility will be managing the entire life cycle of our design system: from the strategic roadmap, to conceptualizing new UI components, and finally to the technical implementation with our Frontend Engineers.

How You Make an Impact

  • Further develop our design system: You'll drive the roadmap for our design system to make sure that it's scalable and supports our long‑term goals.
  • Design components and technically implement them: You'll be responsible for conceptualizing new UI components and working on their technical development with our Frontend Engineers.
  • Adapt and integrate our UI library (PrimeVue): You'll manage the process of adapting our existing UI library (PrimeVue) to our specific design guidelines and requirements and ensure a seamless integration with our platform.
  • Manage processes and guidelines: You'll implement and streamline our workflows for creating, maintaining, and publishing design system components; from initial design to technical execution.
  • Manage tools and infrastructure: You'll be responsible for integrating and managing our design tools and infrastructure needed to maintain our design system.
  • Documentation and knowledge management: You'll make sure that our design system, the corresponding guidelines, and the technical specifications of components are fully documented, accessible, and transparent across the company.
  • Coordination and communication: You'll be the central point of contact between our Product Design, Localization, and Engineering teams to ensure effective communication and consistent use of our design system.
  • Scaling and quality assurance: You'll enable our teams to design at scale by ensuring consistency across our platform and providing standards for evaluating design quality.
  • Performance measurement and reporting: You'll drive relevant KPI targets and metrics to demonstrate the design system's efficiency and value to the company.

Your Profile

  • Verifiable professional experience in design operations management or design system management
  • Expertise in working with design tools (Figma) and understanding of the technical infrastructure of design systems
  • Basic technical understanding of frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and of UI libraries (PrimeVue)
  • Strong skills in project management and experience in streamlining workflows and optimizing guidelines for design processes
  • Strong communication and coordination skills for effective collaboration across teams
  • Ability to define relevant KPIs and make data‑driven decisions
  • Hands‑on mindset with a readiness to take on both strategic and operational tasks
  • Fluency in written and spoken German and English

Your Benefits

  • Flexible working mode within Germany: Hybrid, from home or in our lovely office in Cologne
  • Option for remote work from abroad (up to three months per year from anywhere in the EU or the USA)
  • State of the art technology and modern tech stack
  • Excellent hardware equipment (16‑inch MacBooks, 2 screens at your workplace)
  • Support for your health through sports membership cooperations
  • Flexible use of a monthly mobility budget (e.g. Jobrad, public transport)
  • Time and resources for individual growth
  • envelio pension plan
