What you'll do

As a Developer (Associate) (f/m/d) on our AI Core SDKs team, you will be at the forefront of enabling enterprise‑grade generative AI. Your primary focus will be building and enhancing the essential libraries that developers worldwide use to integrate powerful AI capabilities into SAP applications. In this role, you will:

• Design, code, and own the official SDKs that act as the bridge between developers and SAP's AI services.
• Implement new SDK features with critical new capabilities like secure access to Large Language Models (LLMs), content filtering, and "document grounding".
• Create high‑quality, type‑safe SDK clients based on OpenAPI specifications. Your focus will be on making the SDKs feel natural and intuitive (idiomatic) for developers in each language.
• Build integrations with popular AI frameworks like LangChain, LiteLLM, and Spring AI, ensuring our SDKs work seamlessly with the tools developers already use.
• Be responsible for ensuring our SDKs are rock‑solid by writing thorough unit tests, integration tests, and creating crystal‑clear documentation.
• Create practical sample applications and code snippets that showcase SDK capabilities and help customers get their first project running quickly.

What you bring

Degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field.

Hands‑on expertise in at least one of the core languages: Python, Java, or TypeScript. You should be enthusiastic about learning and working with the other languages as well.

Knowledge and/or hands‑on experience in the following areas:

• Build tooling and package management (e.g., pip/PyPI, Maven, npm/pnpm).
• Continuous integration/delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and automated testing strategies.

Fluent English language skills, both written and spoken.

Beneficial

• Familiarity with generative AI concepts such as chat completions, embeddings, prompt engineering, or RAG and content filtering.
• Knowledge of AI frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LiteLLM, or Spring AI).
• Understanding of REST APIs, OpenAPI, and how HTTP client patterns (e.g., connection management, retries, streaming).
• Familiarity with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), Cloud Foundry, or Kyma.
• Experience contributing to or maintaining open‑source projects.
