DevOps Engineer - Database Infra Team in CloudOS Group in P&E SAP Signavio (m/f/d)

Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer with real-world knowledge and experience in relational databases and a strong developer mindset to join our Database infrastructure team – part of CloudOS, SAP Signavio in Germany.

What You'll Do

• Own our existing AWS RDS DB infrastructures – from maintenance to improvements in scalability, reliability, ease of use, and costs.
• Enhance continuous performance monitoring and improvements of database systems, guiding teams through challenging situations requiring detailed understanding of database engines.
• Ensure security and compliance using state‑of‑the‑art Infrastructure‑as‑Code approaches.
• Support development of HANA Cloud full database life‑cycle management service and future migration.
• Contribute to the entire cycle of product development, from first ideas and brainstorming sessions to continuously delivering improvements based on internal customer data.
• Collaborate with other teams and Tech Leads across the organization to establish and evolve best practices.
• Mentor less‑experienced peers and receive mentorship from more‑experienced peers.

What You'll Bring

• Experience with databases (e.g., SAP HANA Cloud, MySQL, Postgres or their cloud-based equivalents) and document stores, data access layer programming models and operational aspects of cloud persistence technologies.
• Good knowledge of AWS RDS.
• Confidence in working with Kubernetes clusters and managing corresponding resources.
• Programming skills in one of the modern languages (Python, Node.js, Go, TypeScript, Java) and proficiency in SQL.
• Experience with software engineering practices like GitOps using Helm Charts, ArgoCD, CI/CD, TDD, and GitHub workflow to infrastructure.
• Ability to enable others to work independently and to prepare great documentation.
• Interest in working in an agile environment, with test‑driven development, pair programming and fast iterations.
• Ability to handle uncertainty and adapt to continuous change.

Additional Information

Location: Berlin, Germany (remote possible). Expected travel: 0–10%.
