Team Description

You’ll join our Global Expansion team, a cross‑functional group driving SumUp’s entry into new markets worldwide. Our mission is to build and scale SumUp’s presence in regions where millions of small businesses are still underserved, with the most recent or upcoming launches in Australia , Mexico , Canada , and more countries to come.

As Digital Marketing Manager, you’ll define and execute go‑to‑market and growth strategies for these new countries. You’ll shape how we acquire, activate, and retain our first merchants, designing data‑driven experiments, building scalable playbooks, and collaborating closely with product, partnerships, and data teams to accelerate traction from day one.

This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role for a strategic operator who thrives in ambiguity, moves fast, and enjoys building growth engines from scratch.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead go‑to‑market growth across new and emerging markets, driving user acquisition and early activation.
  • Develop and own the full‑funnel growth strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking across multiple channels.
  • Manage and optimise paid acquisition campaigns (Google, Meta, Programmatic, Affiliates) to drive measurable results with lean budgets.
  • Build and execute CRM and lifecycle flows to improve onboarding, engagement, and retention in the first year post‑launch.
  • Partner with Product, Data, and Finance to design reporting, attribution, and performance dashboards, optimising for payback and ROI.
  • Run rapid tests and experiments to validate product‑market fit, identify growth loops, and localise positioning per geography.
  • Lead external partners and agencies while documenting playbooks and learnings for future market rollouts.
  • Collaborate with local and global teams to ensure smooth transitions from pilot phase to full‑scale operations.

You’ll Be Great for This Role If

  • You have 5–8+ years of experience in growth and performance marketing, ideally within fintech, SaaS, or fast‑paced digital businesses.
  • You’re hands‑on and analytical — comfortable setting up campaigns, tracking funnels, and working with Excel/Google Sheets, GA4, Google Analytics and/or Firebase and BI dashboards (Tableau, Looker, Power BI or similar).
  • You’ve managed six‑figure marketing budgets and can demonstrate measurable impact on acquisition and retention metrics.
  • You combine strategic thinking with operational grit — able to build frameworks while executing fast in ambiguous environments.
  • You’re a natural collaborator, skilled at influencing cross‑functional stakeholders across Product, Partnerships, and Data.
  • You thrive in international settings, adapting quickly to new markets and cultural contexts.
  • Bonus: experience launching products in emerging markets or regulated industries (payments, banking, e‑commerce).
