What To Expect
The Tesla Direct Procurement team is looking to hire a skilled Supply chain Management (SCM) Intern The Purchasing team supports the development, implementation and management of strategies to provide Tesla with optimal supply assurance, pricing, flexibility, quality and delivery performance. Interns build and leverage strong working relationships with our engineering teams and key suppliers to assure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met. They work toward good supplier relationships and total costs of ownership to achieve maximum advantage for Tesla and our customers.  The Purchasing Intern will implement and manage strategies to provide Tesla with optimal supply assurance, pricing, flexibility, quality and delivery performance. The ideal candidate has a fundamental understanding of key manufacturing processes, excellent project management skills, and an ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is someone who builds and leverages strong working relationships with our engineering teams and key suppliers to ensure deliverables are met. They work toward good supplier relationships and total costs of ownership to achieve maximum advantage for Tesla and our customers. They are able to dig deep into daily processes and reports needed, and improve these through automation

What You'll Do- Support the team in setting up robust purchasing operations strategy, processes and day to day Ad hoc activities
- Automate existing processes to ensure ease of use going forward
- Work on new cost reduction ideas with the wider team and see them to implementation
- Collaborate with cross functional teams and run weekly progress reporting meetings
- Conducting market analysis and sourcing components for production
- Run monthly costing updates for senior management
What You'll Bring- Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related field
- You have a drive to get things done
- Ability to successfully work with cross range of teams including purchasing, engineering, legal, finance and operations
- Working experience (inclusive of internships) preferably in automotive purchasing
- Excellent written and verbal communications across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft tools (SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, MS Teams), JIRA, Confluence or similar tools/technologies
- You are fluent in English
