Your future contribution

HomeToGo is seeking a Director of Accounting (m/f/d) to spearhead our central Accounting function in Berlin. In this pivotal role, you will drive the strategic oversight of accounting processes across our German and international entities, ensuring operational excellence and technical integrity. You will cooperate closely with our Group Accounting Team, fostering alignment with both internal and external financial stakeholders. The ideal candidate pairs robust technical knowledge with a solutions‑oriented mindset and excels at navigating the complexities of an international, high‑growth environment.

How you’ll add value

• Lead, coach, and develop our central Accounting team together with two team leads.
• Establish and develop efficient, scalable accounting structures, defining standards, processes, and KPIs.
• Spearhead AI enablement and automation initiatives to reduce manual cycles and increase data reliability across the function.
• Govern our SAP S/4HANA Cloud environment, ensuring all financial reporting processes are optimised for speed and accuracy.
• Ensure the timely monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting in accordance with HGB & IFRS in a capital market‑oriented environment.
• Drive M&A integration by harmonising different systems, data landscapes, and accounting policies for newly acquired companies.
• Collaborate proactively with cross‑functional internal stakeholders and external auditors to maintain a seamless financial ecosystem.

You’ll be successful in this role if you

• Have 10+ years of relevant professional experience in accounting, ideally in complex corporate structures (experience in a capital market environment or comparable complexity is an advantage).
• Demonstrate exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to inspire teams and communicate complex financial topics clearly to non‑experts.
• Master multiple systems, heterogeneous data structures, process harmonisation, and modern ERP landscapes (SAP S/4HANA is a big plus).
• Are resilient and have the ability to act clearly, confidently, and in a prioritised manner in fast‑paced settings.
• Operate with a strong entrepreneurial mindset, taking full ownership of decisions and their long‑term impact.
• Communicate fluently in both German and English.
