Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Finance team, combining accounting and controlling functions to provide strategic direction, set clear goals, coach talent, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Serve as Deputy to the CFO, representing the finance function in cross‑functional management forums and stepping in on strategic and operational matters when required.
• Act as a partner for senior management on strategic initiatives, partnership negotiations, mergers & acquisitions, and the development of a state‑of‑the‑art finance department capable of delivering professional, number‑driven support.
• Design and optimize finance processes and organizational structures to boost efficiency, strengthen internal controls, and enable business scalability.
• Own the audit, planning & reporting cycle: prepare and present annual budgets, rolling forecasts, P&L statements, balance sheets, liquidity analyses, and variance commentary to executive management and the supervisory board.
• Manage financial investments, tax assessments & tax declarations, with treasury exposure considered advantageous.
• Ensure accurate period‑end close by calculating quarterly accruals, maintaining fixed‑asset records, and posting in DATEV in line with HGB/IFRS and company policies.
• Partner cross‑functionally with Operations, IT, and Business Units to evaluate new initiatives, advise on financial implications, and safeguard financial integrity.
• Liaise with auditors and regulators, preparing audit packages and responding to queries to guarantee timely, clean audit outcomes and full compliance.
• Continuously monitor key KPIs, transform data into actionable insights, and recommend initiatives that enhance profitability and cash flow.
• Lead and develop finance colleagues across multiple countries, embracing diversity and ensuring alignment in an international environment.

What we expect

• An excellent track record with relevant professional experience, ideally including strategic leadership, change management, project management, and system & process implementation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders in a complex, international environment.
• Leadership experience at the team level (6–8 employees), preferably with international exposure.
• Accounting regulation expertise, including knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
• Experience in a regulated financial institution, preferably an AIFM under Luxembourg regulation (CSSF); experience under BaFin/KVG is a plus.
• General knowledge of financial markets (asset manager / investment manager institutions).
• Degree in economics, business administration, finance, or a related field.
• Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to translate concepts into workable solutions.
• High level of IT literacy.
• Excellent verbal, written & presentation skills in German and English.
