Electrical Installation Technician, ID Install

We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure customers have continual access to the cloud. Position

Electrical Installation Technician you will be responsible for powering up new racks to increase AWS server and network capacity (involves work on ATSs, PDCs and Catchers). The role requires a highly driven, self-managed individual who can plan daily operations and travel between different locations within the city. Travel between data center sites and internationally may be required.

Responsibilities

• Setting and maintaining the highest standards for safety and actively promoting a world-class safety culture in all aspects of operational procedure
• Driving continuous improvement efforts on infrastructure through standardization of procedures and policies, while delivering performance against agreed metrics
• Enabling the operations organization to deliver 100% up-time on all customer supporting infrastructure
• Collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver operational excellence for all AWS customers
• Following standard operation procedures and tracking issues through a Trouble Ticket system
• Prioritising appropriately in a complex, fast-paced environment
• Performing the power up of all racks and rack-based systems
• Power whip preparation, installation and deployment
• Performing system walkthroughs to verify proper installation of racks and updating related Monitoring Systems

Physical requirements

• Travel throughout Frankfurt to cover different locations on a daily basis
• Work at heights and from ladders
• Perform physical tasks daily
• Work in a noisy environment with ear protection
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE)

Basic qualifications

• Completed apprenticeship (Ausbildung) in electrical field or equivalent diploma
• Fluency in English
• Demonstrate strong technical ownership and problem-solving capabilities, with comprehensive IT proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite. Possesses proven theoretical knowledge and practical experience in electrical systems and applications.

Preferred qualifications

• 1+ years of Data Center engineering experience or related
• Education in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
