We are seeking an Electrical Project Manager to join a large data centre development in Frankfurt, working with one of Europe’s leading contractors. This position offers the opportunity to oversee high-value electrical packages on a fast-paced, cutting-edge project environment.
Role Overview
The Electrical Project Manager will take full responsibility for electrical delivery across the project, including safety, schedule, technical coordination, cost control, subcontractor management and handover documentation. You will be a key interface between design teams, subcontractors, suppliers and the client, ensuring electrical works are delivered safely, on time and to the highest technical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage electrical site safety and QA with the project team and Safety Advisor, ensuring compliance with all health & safety standards
- Manage the electrical project schedule in line with client and engineering requirements, providing accurate reporting and forecasting
- Control all electrical package costs including budgets, procurement, materials, labour, equipment, variations and change orders
- Oversee day-to-day electrical site operations, monitoring subcontractor progress, manpower levels and performance through weekly meetings
- Attend all project meetings including site coordination, engineering reviews, planning sessions and handover meetings
- Support full project close-out including Final Account, O&M Manuals, Safety File, QA File, punch lists and third-party inspections
- Liaise with key project stakeholders including design teams, subcontractors, suppliers and vendors
- Review drawings, specifications and IFC documentation to ensure full understanding of electrical scope
- Oversee BIM coordination processes and manage RFIs, technical submittals, as-built drawings and related documentation
- Maintain technical responsibility for the quality and compliance of electrical design deliverables
- Ensure compliance with all standards, codes and specifications for electrical installation, validation and client handover
- Prepare and manage scope of work for subcontractors, including objectives, timelines and budgets
- Support tender evaluations, cost reviews and subcontractor selection
- Report schedule, risk and cost impacts to Project and Commercial Managers
- Lead, motivate and coordinate teams including engineers, supervisors, electricians, vendors and subcontractors
- Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular progress updates
- Identify and manage project risks and support project execution planning
- Develop project execution strategies with a strong focus on QEHS
- Develop and track labour histograms, weekly performance indicators and procurement schedules
- Coordinate testing and commissioning processes
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and Code of Conduct
Candidate Requirements
- Trade qualification and/or relevant third-level engineering or construction degree
- 5–10 years’ experience in electrical project management
- Proven track record managing large-scale electrical installation projects
- Experience with industrial relations and labour management
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements
- Experience in design & build environments
- Strong technical knowledge of both electrical and mechanical systems
- Excellent communication, leadership and IT skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Experience driving major construction projects from inception to completion
