Your mission
We’re looking for an Electronics Engineer who can take ownership of electronic subsystems end-to-end: translating needs into requirements, designing schematics, validating designs in the lab, and supporting the path toward future qualification‑grade hardware.
System design & engineering
- Define electronic subsystem concepts and architectures (power tree, interfaces, protection concepts, derating mindset)
- Translate system needs into clear hardware requirements and verification objectives (and keep documentation tidy and usable)
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, test, and embedded/software teams to ensure smooth system integration
Schematic design & analysis
- Own schematic capture for mixed‑signal and power electronics:
- Sensor front‑ends (pressure, temperature, position), ADC interfaces, signal conditioning
- Power stages (DC/ DC conversion, protection, power distribution, load switching)
- Driver stages (solenoids/actuators; motor‑control‑adjacent circuitry is a plus)
- Component selection with attention to availability, reliability, and lifetime
Simulation & engineering validation
- Perform circuit analysis and simulation where appropriate (e.g., SPICE) to de‑risk designs
- Worst‑case thinking: tolerances, thermal considerations, losses, stability, and protection behavior
PCB collaboration (guidance, not layout ownership)
- Provide layout guidance to the PCB designer (stack‑up constraints, grounding strategy, return paths, isolation/clearances, test points)
- Review layout from an electrical/EMI/signal‑integrity perspective (you won’t be the one routing boards)
Bring‑up, testing & verification
- Prototype bring‑up, debugging, and systematic bench testing
- Define test procedures, capture results, and feed improvements back into the next iteration
- Support the build‑up of more advanced test capabilities over time (including future EMI/EMC pre‑compliance as the lab evolves)
Documentation
- Maintain clear engineering documentation: requirements, design decisions, schematics/BoM notes, test plans, and test reports
- Contribute to design reviews and milestone documentation
Your profile
Must Have
- Degree in Electrical Engineering / Mechatronics / Embedded Systems (or equivalent practical experience)
- Strong hands‑on background in electronics development and lab testing
- Confident in schematic capture and mixed‑signal + power electronics fundamentals
- Electronics Simulation (SPICE/LTspice)
- Comfortable with core lab equipment (oscilloscope, DMM, power supplies, electronic loads, function generator)
- Structured engineering mindset: requirements → design → verification
- Strong technical English (written and spoken)
Nice‑to‑have
- Experience with high‑reliability or space‑related development (derating, environmental constraints, documentation discipline)
- Motor control / inverter‑adjacent hardware experience (gate drivers, current sensing, isolation)
- Familiarity with Altium Designer (or similar), MATLAB/Simulink, Python‑based lab automation
- Understanding of EMI/EMC design principles (even if pre‑compliance measurements are planned for the future)
We offer
- Real ownership: design decisions that go into actual hardware and systems
- Fast iterations with strong engineering discipline (no “mystery‑meat prototypes”)
- Close collaboration across electronics, mechanics, and software
- A growing environment where you can help shape processes, documentation, and test infrastructure
- Permanent full‑time position (40 h/week)
- 30 days annual vacation and flexible working hours
- Bike leasing, EGYM Wellpass and subsidy for the Deutschlandticket
- Complimentary beverages, company events, and professional development opportunities
Application Requirements
- Your CV
- 2–3 reference projects (e.g. schematics, PCB designs, test setups, failure analyses — anything that demonstrates how you approach engineering challenges and build solutions)
