Job Description We are looking for an experienced embedded software engineer with a firmware focus to strengthen our core R&D team. In this role, you will be the first dedicated firmware developer at Noxon, working closely with the CTO and a multidisciplinary team of engineers to bring our wearable medical device from development to production. Your Main Tasks Take ownership of the firmware architecture and implementation, using C, Nordic SDK, and Zephyr RTOSDevelop production-ready firmware across key domains such as BLE communication, power management, and sensor integrationOptimize system performance (incl. battery efficiency, latency, signal stability)Debug, test, and validate using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and custom test setupsEnsure robustness and scalability via modular design, documentation, and adherence to quality/safety standards (ex. IEC 62304, ISO 13485)Drive the transition from prototype to production, including versioning, CI, and release managementCollaborate closely with our electronics and software engineers at the interface between hardware, firmware, and application softwareContribute proactively to an agile R&D environment, improving tools, workflows, and development processes Qualifications Degree in software engineering, computer science, electrical engineering or a related fieldProfessional experience in designing and developing embedded systems, ideally in medical devicesProficiency in C programming and embedded architecture; experience in real-time operating systems (preferably Zephyr) and microcontroller platforms (preferably Nordic SDK)Practical experience with BLE, hardware bring-up, interpreting datasheets, and lab-based debugging (ex. oscilloscope, logic analyzer)Analytical and solution-oriented mindset; able to work independently and make reasonable technical decisionsFluent in English and willing to work on-site in our offices in Munich Interested?
