What to expect

AI-based signal analysis and signal classification methods are to be researched as part of the activities. Swarm-based approaches are investigated in which several networked swarm participants jointly perform signal analysis and classification. In addition to theoretical work and implementation of algorithms in simulation, the researched methods are to be validated in experiments with real data.

Your tasks

  • Develop AI-based methods for signal analysis and classification in a robot swarm or distributed network
  • Analyze the developed methods through theoretical evaluation and computer-aided simulation
  • Adapt the developed methods to the computers used on the experimental platforms and to the real-time capability required in the experiments
  • Conceive, prepare and realize experiments in indoor and outdoor environments with software-defined radios on e.g., rovers or flying platforms
  • Publish the results in journals and at conferences
  • Supervise working students, Master/Bachelor students and interns

Your profile

  • University degree (Master’s/Diploma) in engineering (e.g., electrical engineering, communications engineering, computer science) or other relevant courses of study with very good overall results
  • Expertise in signal processing, radio communication systems and methods of artificial intelligence or willingness to acquire this expertise in a short period of time
  • Basic knowledge of system integration and embedded systems
  • Good knowledge of preparing and conducting experimental measurement campaigns to test scientific methods
  • Very good programming skills, e.g., in MATLAB, C++, Python
  • Fluency in written and spoken English

Remuneration: depends on qualifications and job assignment up to pay grade 13 TVöD.
