Engineering Manager - Inventory Management
We are on the lookout for a seasoned Engineering Manager in Quick Commerce Operations to help us build solutions that ensure accurate stock levels, efficient movement tracking, and high system reliability across our DMarts network.
As a leader of one of the core squads within the Dmart Tools domain, you’ll manage a cross‑functional team of engineers focused on data consistency and real‑time visibility across warehouses. Your responsibilities include building high‑availability systems that handle millions of daily operations, improving stock accuracy, preventing discrepancies, and ensuring smooth order fulfillment in real time.
Responsibilities
- Understand & Strategize: Gain deep expertise in Inventory Management and Dmart domain, contributing to tactical and long‑term strategy.
- Incident Management & Reliability: Lead and improve incident response processes, ensuring root‑cause analysis, service reliability, and preventive actions.
- Collaborate & Prioritize: Partner with product, operations, and engineering to plan and deliver mission‑critical initiatives.
- Team Growth & Hiring: Foster engineering culture, mentor, and hire talent.
- End‑to‑End Ownership: Oversee the full lifecycle of backend systems—design, implementation, monitoring, scaling, recovery.
- Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Align stakeholders, manage expectations, balance technical depth with business impact.
- Scale & Innovate: Contribute to architectural evolution, improve processes, keep systems resilient under high load.
Qualifications
- Technical Expertise: Hands‑on experience and leadership in Go, microservice architecture, production‑scale distributed systems.
- Incident Management: Proven track record managing on‑call rotations, post‑incident reviews, system observability.
- Leadership & Team Growth: Experience leading backend engineering teams, fostering technical excellence.
- Architectural Knowledge: Deep understanding of design trade‑offs (sync/async, data consistency, performance, idempotency).
- Tools & Infrastructure: Proficiency with Git, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaboration & Communication: Strong communicator, decision‑maker, team player in global environments.
- Passion for Problem‑Solving: Motivated to solve complex operational challenges in Inventory and Supply Chain domains at scale.
