In 2024, we closed a $48M Series A led by Accel, joined by executives from Booking.com, Stripe, Stripe, and Shopify. Backed by this momentum, we are scaling our platform and expanding our global footprint — and we’re hiring a Director of Engineering to lead that evolution.

The Role

As Engineering Manager, you’ll take ownership of one of our product inside the technology organization - from engineering strategy to day-to-day execution. This role is for a hands-on, product-aware technical leader who can architect for scale, build high-performing teams, and lead with both vision and execution.
You’ll work closely with our CEO, the Head of Product, and other executives to align technology with business outcomes. This is a unique opportunity to define the future of a fast-growing, product-led infrastructure company from the inside.

Key Responsibilities

🛠️ Engineering Strategy & Architecture

• Define and own the long-term engineering vision and technical roadmap across all product verticals (Hotels, Flights, Fintech, APIs).
• Architect scalable systems that support high-volume, low-latency traffic across a global infrastructure.
• Champion a modular, API-first platform approach, ensuring extensibility, reliability, and performance at scale.
• Lead architectural decisions around cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, data pipelines, and developer tooling.

🧑 🤝 🧑 Team Leadership & Culture

• Recruit, mentor, and scale a world-class engineering team across multiple disciplines: backend, frontend, DevOps, QA, and data.
• Foster a high-ownership, high-trust culture built around autonomy, craftsmanship, and execution.
• Implement scalable org structures, leveling systems, and growth paths that support both rapid hiring and long-term development.
• Embed engineering excellence across the team - code quality, testing, security, observability, and documentation.

🚀 Product & Execution

• Partner closely with Product leadership to drive discovery-to-delivery cycles and ensure product velocity without compromising quality.
• Introduce and optimize agile practices that promote predictability, adaptability, and cross-team alignment.
• Act as a technical thought partner to Product, Growth, and Commercial - helping the org make faster, smarter decisions.
• Lead the execution of mission-critical features, major refactors, or platform upgrades with speed and reliability.

📊 Operations & Scalability

• Oversee the evolution of our CI/CD pipelines, cloud environments (AWS), monitoring stack, and incident response processes.
• Ensure infrastructure reliability through robust SLA/SLO/SLI design, observability tools, and automated testing.
• Maintain a clear line of sight into engineering velocity, tech debt, and infrastructure health through reporting and dashboards.

What We’re Looking For:

6+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in senior leadership roles (VP, CTO, or equivalent).
Proven success scaling engineering organizations in product-led, API-first, or B2B SaaS environments.
Deep experience with distributed systems, microservices, data pipelines, and modern backend frameworks (Node.js, Go, Python, etc.).
Hands-on knowledge of cloud architecture, preferably AWS, and infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Terraform, Pulumi).
Passion for building well-structured teams and systems — you think in systems, not silos.
You’ve led through scale: from early stage chaos to 50+ person engineering teams and global platforms.
Ability to communicate clearly across functions - from engineers to boardroom stakeholders.
Bonus: experience in travel tech, marketplaces, fintech infrastructure, or high-volume transactional systems.
