Responsibilities
- Lead the management of Mechanical Integrity across all European sites, overseeing integrity assessments for high risk assets, responding to outcomes of inspections and management of changes through internal and external resources.
- Own the Mechanical Integrity Criticality Assessment Register, revising and updating based on findings from integrity assessments and the addition of new assets from projects.
- Work with external consultants to develop RBI-based written schemes of examination for all mechanical integrity assets (pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, pipework, etc.). Establish scope, extent and level of examination.
- Serve as SME for asset Mechanical Integrity across the business regarding degradation mechanisms, failure modes, material selection for hazardous applications, repair plans, and investigations into failures, in conjunction with external experts.
- Report asset condition and compliance of MI inspections using SAP; understand high risk assets, end-of-life planning, and non-compliance or overdue integrity assessments.
- Generate design scopes of work for mechanical (piping and vessels) and structural aspects of projects across Europe.
- Hold approval authority for all mechanical and structural designs for all EU sites.
- Develop and own mechanical and structural engineering standards (e.g., pipe service index, pipe classes, pipe stress, vessel design, metallurgy selection, structural design).
- Manage the capital plan and projects for the site, coordinating with EU Projects, engineering teams, and EU Automation to deliver design content on time and within budget.
What you will manage and decisions you will influence
- Collaborate with site maintenance leaders and engineering resources to agree key decisions such as repair plans from mechanical integrity inspection findings.
- Provide final approval of piping and vessel inspection protocols (Written Schemes of Examination) and RBI plans for all EU sites.
- Approve mechanical equipment repair plans and all mechanical/structural designs for new or modified equipment across EU sites.

Qualifications
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Knowledge of EU standards and directives related to mechanical and structural design and operation (e.g., Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU, Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, Seveso Directive).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including for non-native English speakers.
- Experience in a Mechanical or Project Engineering role within the chemical or process industries, with a minimum of 10 years’ experience.
- Experience managing Mechanical Integrity programs from WSE through inspection, degradation analysis, and repairs.
Travel in Europe (typical duration 1 week). Travel as required by business needs.
