Flexsys Verkauf GmbH is looking for support in the finance department with a focus on taxes for Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium to start as soon as possible.
General Description
Flexsys is looking for an individual who will be responsible for the:
- Preparation and submittal of monthly, quarterly and annual VAT tax returns across our European (UE) operations
- Under the direction of the global tax team, advise sales and operations on the correct indirect tax treatment for all new transactional flows
- Supporting corporate tax team in both external and local audits as requested
- Support global tax team in the preparation of income tax returns by compiling and providing requested statutory data
- The local responsibility for the maintenance and completion of the Annual Statutory Financial Statements for Germany, Netherlands and Belgium as well as coordination with external auditors
- This role will serve as a support resource for the Controllership and Ops Finance group around month end reporting, ad hoc projects and other matters
This role will administratively report to the Germany Entity Controller. Due to the structure of this new role, the position will have dotted line reporting to our Global Tax Director (VAT), Corporate Controlling, (Statutory FS), and Operations Finance (plant related matters).
Key attributes of a successful EU Finance Manager will include the ability to establish a EU wide cross functional role, be an effective communicator and can absorb work previously done in other parts of the organization including outside parties.
Position Responsibilities
- Accumulation of data, review of data, maintain knowledge of VAT requirements and timely completion of monthly VAT reporting for NE, BE and DE entities
- Accumulation of data, review of data, maintain knowledge of Annual Statutory Financial Statements and timely completion of annual statutory reporting for NE, BE and DE entities
- Relationship with external auditors in the local jurisdictions
- Initially, get structure/cadence/reporting in place and then continue to look for ways to streamline the processes
- Support other Finance and non-finance functions for data, information and analysis
- Other projects as needed to support Nienburg operating sites
Requirements
- Education: Bilanzbuchhalter, Steuerfachangestellte, Steuerfachwirt, Bachelor/Master Steuerrecht, Betriebswirtschaftliches Studium mit Schwerpunkt Steuern
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and prepare various indirect tax filings
- 10+ years of experience in relevant tax and reporting roles, either at Corporate level or business level
- Experience of local reporting requirements to prepare U.S. GAAP to Local GAAP adjustments (NL, BE, and DE)
- Experience with SAP S/4Hana is a plus
- Interpersonal skills and effective oral and written German and English communications skills
- Working knowledge of the languages where we operate (NL, BE, and DE) in order to prepare necessary documentation and communicate with local authorities
- Project management skills and demonstrated attention to detail
