About the Role

Goodgame Studios is developing a new cross-platform 4X strategy game rooted in one of Europe's most successful strategy IPs. For this project UI/UX is a cornerstone of success: our ambition is to deliver world‑class clarity, accessibility and emotional impact across platforms.

We are seeking an Expert UI/UX Designer who will take full ownership of HUD design, dialog systems and overall usability. Your work will be benchmarked against the very best in the genre with Rise of Kingdoms and KingShot as key references. From the First Time User Experience (FTUE) to long‑term LiveOps flows you will ensure that the game is both visually striking and intuitively usable.

This is a high‑impact hands‑on role where design quality directly drives engagement, conversion and long‑term retention.

YOUR MISSION

Define and own the HUD and UI style ensuring a clean, modern and scalable interface.

Design world‑class dialog systems and UI flows that balance narrative clarity and brand identity.

Create a best‑in‑genre FTUE experience blending intuitive tutorials with emotional storytelling.

Benchmark and improve all UI/UX elements against top competitors (Rise of Kingdoms, KingShot) ensuring market‑leading usability and polish.

Collaborate with Game Design and Product teams to align UI flows with progression monetization and LiveOps goals.

Work closely with Art and Engineering to integrate AI‑remastered assets and ensure seamless scalability across devices.

Ensure UI consistency across PC and mobile, optimizing for performance and readability.

Deliver high‑quality prototypes, wireframes and design documentation to support cross‑disciplinary development.

YOUR BACKSTORY

Several years of experience as a UI/UX Designer in free‑to‑play mobile or cross‑platform titles.

Proven success in creating HUDs, menus and dialog systems for large‑scale strategy or MMO titles.

Deep understanding of FTUE design onboarding funnels and how UI impacts conversion and retention.

Strong portfolio showcasing clean, modern and scalable UI solutions.

Hands‑on experience with industry‑standard tools (Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Unity UI frameworks).

Familiarity with AI‑assisted workflows (Stable Diffusion, ComfyUI, LoRA models) for asset remastering and iteration.

Ability to balance player‑experience business KPIs and production constraints.

Strong communication skills and experience working closely with cross‑functional teams.

Fluent in English; German is welcome but not required.
