Fashion – Product Design – Assistant

Job Description

The Fashion Product Design Assistant supports the design and development of fashion products from concept to production. Working closely with designers, merchandisers, and production teams, this role contributes to creating collections that align with brand identity, market trends, and customer preferences.

The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about fashion design, with strong organizational and communication skills. This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in product development, trend research, fabric selection, and technical documentation.

Role Responsibilities

• Assist in the creation and development of seasonal fashion collections.
• Support the design team in sketching, fabric sourcing, and color selection.
• Research current fashion trends, materials, and competitors.
• Prepare and update technical design sheets, mood boards, and product specifications.
• Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers for sample development and production tracking.
• Help manage sample inventory, fittings, and photo shoot preparation.
• Communicate with cross-functional teams including merchandising, marketing, and production.
• Organize and maintain digital and physical design archives.
• Assist in quality control reviews and ensure design accuracy in production samples.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions to support creative development and collection planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field.
• 0–3 years of experience in fashion design or product development (internship experience acceptable).
• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or CLO 3D.
• Strong understanding of textiles, garment construction, and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent visual sense and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Passion for fashion trends, sustainability, and innovation.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, creative environment.
• Basic knowledge of production timelines and garment specifications is a plus.
