As a Field Application Engineer on our Customer Collaboration and Technical Marketing team you work hand-in-hand with our customers, enabling them to transform our products into cutting‑edge designs, all while building long‑lasting partnerships that thrive on success.

Your Role

Key responsibilities in your new role:

• Design In / Win of existing products like MOSFETs (Si/SiC), IGBTs, Diodes, Gatedrivers, IPMs, Discretes, and Power Modules
• Definition of new products and derivatives in close cooperation with our innovative customers in EMEA and our internal technical marketing and applications teams
• Act as a technical interface and consult our customers in the field of power electronics (e.g. wind, solar, power supplies); derive customer requirements and market trends to develop system value propositions together with internal interfaces (Marketing, Application, System Engineering)
• Actively manage projects together with the sales department to achieve design‑win targets / goals, and establish and maintain excellent relationships with technical personnel at customers
• Perform measurements in our lab within the scope of actual projects and potential future projects
• Support our distribution partners, e.g. during FAE trainings or end customer seminars, as well as maximize the future business for all Infineon products across all sales channels
• Leverage Infineon’s enterprise AI tools - such as ChatGPT‑style sales assistants, secure generative copilots, and knowledge bots - to scale technical support, accelerate design‑win activities, and capture and share best practices across EMEA

Your Profile

Qualifications And Skills To Help You Succeed

• A degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field of studies
• At least 4 years of professional experience as a (Field) Application Engineer or Design Engineer in the area of power electronics
• Experience in the selection and design of suitable power switches (IGBTs, MOSFETs, power modules or intelligent power modules)
• Practical experience in the lab, thermal or EMC design, layout and simulations
• Project Management skills, as well as readiness for regular business trips
• Fluent German and English communication skills
