Overview

Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is focused on advancing and optimizing the laboratory to move science and healthcare forward. The Field Applications Specialist (FAS) based in Germany provides excellent customer service to clients while installing and maintaining diagnostic instrumentation and systems in hospital and stand-alone laboratory environments. This role is part of the DACH Field Application Team and is located in Germany, preferably within the Köln–Bonn–Bochum area, supporting local and EMEA customers and impacting patient health and well-being. Beckman Coulter aims to reimagine healthcare through continual innovation.

You will be part of the Field Applications Specialist Team and report to the Field Application Manager. You will provide frontline support by resolving customer problems through technical, scientific expertise and troubleshooting. You will help drive revenue growth while ensuring strong customer contract retention and warranty conversion. Use critical thinking to resolve application issues, train customers, verify operational performance and data quality of systems. Responsibilities

  • Develop and build knowledge to understand the industry, the company, the products, tools, and the team. This is supported with a clear Development Pathway program as part of our culture to develop and grow our teams.
  • Be supported by a strong leadership team, involved in key projects to deliver successful installations for customers that meet their requirements and those of the company.
  • Provide excellent professional support and training to Beckman Coulter’s customers.
  • Maintain customer support logs and internal records in a timely manner; resolve issues to deliver a high-quality customer experience.
  • Develop commercial awareness through cross-functional support of the business to increase growth opportunities and demonstrate to customers our pioneering innovation solutions and new products for the market.

Essential requirements

  • University scientific degree
  • At least 1 year of experience within the clinical laboratory diagnostics environment, with familiarity with its processes, technologies, and industry dynamics
  • Fluent in German and English
  • Ability to interact with customers on a detailed scientific basis to ensure customer needs are fulfilled
  • Ability to travel and provide service in the assigned geography, as well as periodic travel to other areas and overnight travel
  • Ability to work flexible hours as per business needs

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements

  • Travel within Germany and the EMEA region (up to 90%, 85% DACH and max 5% rest of EMEA) to support customers, with overnight stays as needed
  • Hold a current valid driver’s license and good driving record. Associates who drive Beckman Coulter vehicles will follow the Danaher Company Vehicle Policy

FAS operate independently within their geographic territory; however, we operate as a team to share standard methodologies, mentor and receive expert technical support. Classified as remote worker, provided with a company car, mobile phone and laptop.
