Field Service Engineer – Semiconductor Systems

We are currently partnered with a leading provider of advanced semiconductor inspection equipment, supporting cutting-edge technologies in optics, lasers, robotics, and precision mechanics. The team is expanding and is looking for a Field Service Engineer to deliver technical support, installations, troubleshooting, and software assistance for customers across a range of high-precision semiconductor systems.

This is a permanent position based onsite in Dresden, Germany with regular travel (both in Germany and internationally).

Key Responsibilities

• Perform installations, repairs, preventive maintenance, and calibrations of semiconductor inspection equipment at customer sites.
• Respond to customer service calls, providing on-site, remote, and over-the-phone troubleshooting support.
• Escalate unresolved issues with thorough documentation, including field service reports and system logs.
• Train customers on safe operation, maintenance, and application use of equipment.
• Support customer applications and serve as liaison with software/application teams.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing, mentoring junior engineers, and improving service processes.
• Manage company parts, tools, and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
• Collaborate with international teams and work flexible hours as needed, including occasional travel.

Key Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience in semiconductor equipment service or related technical support roles.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in optics, lasers, robotics, precision mechanics, and related systems.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics and knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, and vacuum/thermodynamics.
• Proficiency with hand tools, digital multimeters, and general lab equipment.
• Prior experience with installation, maintenance, or service of capital semiconductor equipment.
• Experience supporting software or programming aspects of semiconductor systems.
