The Federal Systems Technology department is responsible for service supporting the charter of implementing and integrating complex systems sold worldwide to the U.S. Federal Government.
Job Description
Provide Field Operations technical support to U.S. Army, U.S. Air Forces & U.S. Navy Enterprise Land Mobile Radio networks covering Germany, Belgium, United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Kuwait, UAE & Africa. Provide technical integration, service and support in relation to the Motorola Solutions product suite focused toward DoD Federal Government customers.
Responsibilities
- Provide expertise and collaboration to customer personnel in support of Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems for the European‑based U.S. Army, U.S. Air Forces & U.S. Navy Enterprise.
- Perform installations and removals of trunked and conventional LMR systems in Germany, Belgium, United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Africa and Greece.
- Deliver client‑focused service, ensuring on‑time delivery and maintaining strong internal and external communication.
- Multitask across multiple systems and applications during customer interactions.
- Champion the complete Motorola Service and Sales portfolio to support customer communication needs.
- Communicate project updates to customers and resolve minor administrative actions; report scope changes to supervisor.
- Operate and maintain equipment required to support trunked and conventional LMR systems.
- Maintain, program, optimize, troubleshoot and repair radio repeaters, portable radios, mobile radios, base stations and communication consoles.
- Resolve escalated customer issues to successful resolution.
- Diagnose, repair, test and calibrate LMR equipment to OEM standards, documenting all actions in the FSED automated MCM Comm Shop 360.
- Provide user refresher training for first‑echelon field training on subscribers and trunked radio infrastructure.
- Conduct on‑site response, repair and preventive maintenance for Motorola ASTRO® 25 LMR systems.
- Support all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) associated with established contracts.
- Prepare administrative reports for recurring and non‑recurring contracts and for management.
Requirements
- Certified technician or equivalent qualification in industrial engineering.
- Strong knowledge of Motorola Solutions P25 Trunking Network Systems.
- Strong knowledge of communications systems and ability to interface with customer technical representatives.
- Solid understanding of Motorola radio systems and their applications.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (English).
- Sound judgment, decision making, and problem‑solving ability.Team‑oriented and flexible to changing situations.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, MCSE, or CISSP preferred.
- Solid RF knowledge and networking experience (at least 2–3 years RF, 2+ years networking).
- Proficiency with MS applications, Google Workspace and related tools.
- Ability to obtain U.S. Government security clearance; must complete Form 86.
- At least 3 years RF experience and 2–3 years networking experience; education may substitute.
- Position located in Germany under German labor laws, operating under a U.S. manager.
- EU driver’s license a plus; U.S. passport, U.S. driver’s license required; must be healthy for travel and willing to travel up to 75% across EMEA.
- U.S. citizenship required.
Travel Requirements
Over 50% travel across EMEA.
