Role Overview
As Director Finance, you report directly to the CFO / VP Finance and act as a key strategic and operational partner in leading the finance function. You take end-to-end ownership of Accounting (primary focus) and, depending on your profile, also oversee Controlling, ensuring a robust, audit-ready finance backbone that supports growth, rising international complexity, and post-merger integration (PMI) activities.
You lead and develop a team of initially c. 5 FTE and, together with the CFO, efficiently scale the finance organization in line with the company’s growth trajectory. Beyond core finance leadership, you build consulting- and B2B-services–specific steering (e.g., utilization and project economics), support commercial initiatives (pricing, margin improvement), and drive continuous improvements across processes, governance, and tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the full accounting scope across entities, including GL, AP/AR, fixed assets, accruals, and reconciliations
- Lead a best-in-class monthly, quarterly, and year-end close with speed, accuracy, and a strong audit trail
- Ensure statutory reporting readiness and consistent accounting policies across the group
- Drive consolidation quality, including intercompany reconciliation/elimination and group reporting governance
- Establish, maintain, and evolve transfer pricing guidelines and processes
- Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and external partners; ensure audit readiness and robust internal controls
Finance Leadership & People Management
- Lead, coach, and develop an accounting and controlling team (initially ~5 FTE)
- In close alignment with the CFO, efficiently grow finance capabilities, roles, and headcount to support growth and internationalization
- Establish clear ownership, timelines, and quality standards (closing calendar, RACI, documentation, review routines)
- Drive hiring, onboarding, and development plans to build a resilient, high-performing finance organization
Cash, Liquidity & Working Capital
- Own cash visibility through cash forecasting, payment governance, and working capital initiatives (DSO/DPO)
- Drive invoicing discipline and collection effectiveness to improve cash conversion
- Design, document, and continuously improve end-to-end finance processes for scalability, compliance, and efficiency
- Lead evaluation and rollout/optimization of the finance tool stack (ERP, accounting, consolidation, BI/reporting, expenses, invoicing)
- Increase automation and standardization to reduce manual work and strengthen controls
International Setup & PMI (Finance Workstream Lead)
- Support finance governance for an international group setup (entity reporting, intercompany processes, harmonized chart of accounts)
- Own finance workstreams in PMI: integration planning, policy and process harmonization, reporting integration, and close stabilization
Controlling Oversight & Performance Transparency
- Oversee controlling to deliver reliable management reporting, variance analysis, and actionable insights
- Strengthen budgeting and forecasting, including driver-based forecasting and scenario planning
- Increase transparency across cost base, contribution margins, and profitability by client, service, and team
Consulting / B2B Services Finance Steering
- Define and operationalize KPIs such as utilization, billability, realization, project gross margin, write-offs, and capacity planning
- Establish frameworks for project economics (rate cards, discount governance, margin waterfalls, project profitability)
- Partner closely with delivery leadership to connect resourcing and delivery decisions to financial outcomes
- Act as finance partner for pricing strategy and governance (rate strategy, guardrails, discount approvals, profitability simulations)
- Support deal and portfolio steering with scenario modeling and margin improvement initiatives
- Develop commercial toolkits (deal review templates, minimum margin thresholds, pricing guidance)
Your Profile
- 10+ years of professional experience in Finance/Accounting with clear progression and leadership responsibility
- Strong track record owning Accounting in a multi-entity environment (close, statutory reporting, audit management, controls)
- Proven experience leading finance teams (5+ FTE) and building capabilities in growth environments
- Solid understanding of Controlling and performance steering (forecasting, KPI reporting, variance analysis)
- Experience in B2B services, consulting, agency, or project-based business (preferred) or a closely comparable environment
Nice-to-Have
- Big 4 (or similar) background early in career (Audit and/or Transaction Services)
- Experience with international expansion and increasing group complexity (multi-entity, intercompany, consolidation)
- Exposure to PMI / M&A integration and finance harmonization
- Strong tooling track record (ERP, consolidation tools, BI/reporting, automation) and process design expertise
