As a Financial Analyst in Business Performance Controlling for the EMEA region, you will serve as a key contact, working closely with the leadership of Business Performance Controlling for the divisions ROS (Radiation Oncology Solutions) and DO (Digital Oncology). Your core responsibility is to provide thorough financial analyses and reports, supporting the Regional Management Team and the Regional Finance Directors with actionable insights for decision-making.

Your Tasks And Responsibilities

  • Support topics related to performance controlling, particularly by conducting variance analyses, identifying risks and opportunities, and developing practical recommendations for the Regional Management Team and Regional Finance Directors.
  • Assist in preparing financial forecasts and the annual budget process, and support the transfer of relevant data to the respective financial reporting systems.
  • Prepare management presentations, including delivering clear and comprehensive financial overviews.
  • Actively promote the standardization of reporting landscape and processes, including the development and implementation of standardized reports.
  • Encourage knowledge sharing and exchange within the Varian EMEA and Varian Finance community.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses and create corresponding reports.

Your Qualifications And Experience

  • Completed Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Alternatively, candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and relevant first work experience in financial reporting, accounting, planning, or an equivalent area are also considered.
  • Experience in developing, monitoring, and analyzing KPIs as well as preparing decision-relevant performance reports.
  • Strong team spirit, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a high level of self-motivation and initiative.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and comfort working with large data sets.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and experience with ERP and BI systems such as SAP, Oracle, Power BI, or Jedox.
  • Willingness to take ownership, embrace new challenges, and actively seek out opportunities for improvement.
  • Fluency in English and enthusiasm for working in an international, diverse team with stakeholders from different nationalities and backgrounds.
