We’re looking for an Accountant with 3+ years of experience who combines solid accounting skills with a forward-looking mindset. You’ll be responsible for core accounting tasks such as payroll, accounting operations, and optimzing accountant processes.

YOUR TALENT

Must have:

• Formal accounting education or certification.
• Minimum of 3+ years of professional accounting experience in a German company / ecosystem, including HGB knowledge and hands-on experience.
• Language skills: Native German and fluent English.
• Solid experience with:
  • Salaries, social security, insurance contributions, and other statutory obligations
  • Accounting operations (AP/AR, reconciliations, financial reporting)
  • Year-end accounting processes and reporting standards
• Hands-on DATEV experience.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and structured working style.
• Self-starter with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
• Proven track record in optimizing accounting processes, ideally using IT solutions, automation, or digital tools.
• Awareness of automation opportunities in accounting and interest in working with AI-driven financial tools.

Nice to have:

• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP FI/CO, Oracle, Navision, Dynamics, etc.
• Knowledge of or experience with SQL and Python is a huge advantage for this role.
• Familiarity with Billomat.
• Background in financial planning, public funding, or investment processes.
• Experience with Stripe.

HAVE AN IMPACT

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), reconciliations, and reporting.
• Oversee payroll and salaries, ensuring compliance with social security, insurance, and other statutory obligations.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Ensure compliance with local accounting standards (German GAAP / HGB, IFRS, etc.).
• Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate accounting processes with other business systems and tools.
• Explore and analyze data-driven financial insights, proactively suggesting areas for process and cost optimization.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline accounting workflows, leveraging digital and AI-driven solutions.
• Take initiative on forward-looking financial projects, such as financial planning, public funding, or investment opportunities, once core processes are automated.
