Are you ready to dive into the world of aerospace while taking our flying weapon systems to the next level? At Airbus Defence and Space in Manching (Ingolstadt), we are looking for a Flight Control System (FCS) / Flight Management System (FMS) Equipment Design Responsible (d/m/f).
YOUR MISSION
The position offers a multitude of activities including equipment responsibility, D3Q (Design, Development, Demonstration and Qualification) activities, and technical management of suppliers for various Weapon Systems such as Eurofighter, FCAS (Future Combat Air System) including RC (Remote Carrier) and Eurodrone. You will be part of a dynamic international team and will be in direct contact with our customers and suppliers. Particular activities can also be agreed to be carried out within the framework of "mobile work".

Your Responsibilities
- Responsibility for FCS and FMS equipment design for various weapon systems such as Eurofighter, FCAS and Eurodrone and future adventures.
- Management of statutory, functional, performance, system and technical requirements from higher‑level architecture and specifications (internal and external), and allocation to the corresponding equipment.
- Generation and maintenance of the technical contract documents (equipment specifications (PTS), data requirement list, equipment engineering design, requirement documents, FRD and equipment interface control document).
- Management of equipment D3Q (including development in accordance with hardware standard DO‑254 and other applicable standards), obsolescence and re‑design.
- Technical management of suppliers including selection process, D3Q activities, milestone management, Stage of Involvement reviews (SOIs), validation and acceptance of deliverable items, DDPs, limitations and deviations, support and assessment of defect investigations and repairs, harmonisation and control of supplier and programme plans.
- Responsible for compliance to technical contract documents, equipment change management and build standard management.
- Support stakeholder requests concerning equipment queries, defects and problem investigations.
- Support equipment integration testing.
- Liaison and coordination with other disciplines, departments (EMC, RM&T, ILS, QA, etc.) and the customer (including national airworthiness authorities such as LufABw).
YOUR PROFILE
- University (Master) degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of professional experience.
- Knowledge and practical expertise with airborne equipment, including:
- Very good: qualification & certification, safety, airworthiness, reliability and maintainability.
- Good: hardware DAL A development (DO‑254 and ARP‑4754A, AMC‑20‑152A).
- Basic: software DAL A development (DO‑178).
- Tech insider: knowledge of environmental, robust and certifiable hardware design according to DO‑160 and MIL‑STD‑810 to ensure supplier hardware design is certifiable.
Champions League
- Experience in requirements engineering and requirements tools with DOORs or similar.
- Experience in equipment and hardware certification.
- Experience in technical supplier management.
- Experience in analogue hardware as well as complex hardware design and verification.
- Knowledge in digital computing as well as analytical and signal processing skills.
- Supervision of suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Knowledge about the Eurofighter, FCAS, Eurodrone and other weapon systems welcomed.
- Teamplayer and international driver: demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within an international team, including the ability to coordinate and influence people.
- Language champion: business‑fluent English and German.
