The Experience

The Stephens Frankfurt Analyst Program is a generalist program offering analysts the best opportunity to learn and prepare for a rewarding career in finance, while making a significant contribution to our team.

The Program starts with three weeks of intensive training taught by members of the Stephens team who have gone through the process, and evolves into comprehensive on-the-job experience as analysts assist industry and product teams in advising clients. Our streamlined teams and organizational structure enable analysts to conduct meaningful work on live deals. Across our US and European business, numerous former analysts have become senior team members.

My time in the Stephens Analyst Program was both impactful and rewarding. It provided an exceptional platform in Investment Banking, surrounded by driven and intelligent colleagues. Exposure to projects within different industries in a global set-up was invaluable in shaping my career in Finance.

Responsibilities

During your training, you will have the chance to work on deal structure, financial analysis and modeling, the due diligence process, presentations, client communications and more. Instead of being assigned to a single industry group, you will work across multiple sectors. You will have the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities based on your individual skill sets; an exceptional second-year analyst can receive work that corresponds to the associate level.

We have a superb record of adding value for middle‑market companies, as well as global organizations, across all major sectors and with deep expertise on the subsector level. Our transatlantic team, of more than 250 investment banking professionals, has a collaborative approach to addressing the M&A and capital needs of clients, and as an Analyst at Stephens you will play a substantial and critical role.

Recruiting Process

Application windows open periodically but typically 10-12 months ahead of the starting date.

After submitting your applications documents on the website, the documents are carefully screened by our Frankfurt team. Selected candidates are subsequently admitted to the recruitment process.

The typical analyst recruitment process is structured into three stages, beginning with a short telephone interview focusing on personal fit and previous experience. Qualified candidates are invited to the second stage, which consists of a case study and a series of technical interviews with Stephens bankers. The final round comprises further interviews with the senior members of the Stephens Frankfurt team. Interviews are conducted on-site at our Germany office.
