Remote: 95% remote within Germany, 5% on‑site in Bonn

Responsibilities

• System configuration: creation, maintenance, and expansion of NixOS configurations for servers, containers, and desktops.
• Infrastructure as Code: use of tools such as Terranix to manage NixOS with Terraform.
• Cluster management: orchestrate multi‑node deployments and configuration distribution.
• DevOps & CI/CD: build and maintain pipelines.
• Cloud & virtualization: provision and manage infrastructure in cloud environments.
• Monitoring & security: integrate DevSecOps aspects.
• Support and training: help development teams with NixOS‑based processes.

Must‑Haves

• Deep understanding of NixOS and Nix package manager.
• Experience with declarative systems such as Colmena, NixOps, Terranix.
• Knowledge of Terraform, cloud platforms (OpenStack, AWS), container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong programming and scripting in Nix, Bash, Python.
• Experience with CI/CD tools, monitoring systems.
• Fluent German (written and spoken).
