Full-Stack Engineer (Engineer IV)

Mission Essential is seeking a Full-Stack Engineer to join a cutting‑edge initiative in support of the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) in Germany. This role plays a vital part in delivering critical engineering and technical support services, with a strong emphasis on leveraging advanced data science and engineering solutions to drive mission success.

Responsibilities

• Front‑End Configuration Tasks:
  • Configure User Interfaces (UI)
  • Implement User Experience (UX)
  • Work with command sections and MSCs to optimize navigation, layout, and interactivity to enhance user experience.
  • Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to improve the front‑end.
  • Configure APIs, connect the front‑end with back‑end services, handle data fetching, rendering, and error management.
  • Ensure the application works seamlessly across different device types (smartphone, tablet, desktop/laptop).
  • Minimize load times by optimizing images, scripts, and stylesheets.
  • Implement caching and lazy loading techniques.
• Back‑End Configuration Tasks (in collaboration with 21st TSC G6):
  • Build server‑side logic.
  • Configure server‑side applications using languages such as Python, Java, Node.js, Ruby, or PHP.
  • Implement business logic and algorithms to process data.
  • Design, create, and maintain databases using SQL (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) or NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
  • Write efficient queries and ensure data integrity.
  • Create RESTful or GraphQL APIs to enable communication between the front‑end and back‑end, ensuring secure and scalable endpoints.
  • Implement authentication and authorization (e.g., OAuth, JWT) and role‑based access control; secure sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access.
  • Set up and configure servers on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Deploy applications using Docker, Kubernetes, or CI/CD pipelines.

Job Requirements

• Years of Experience combination of any of the following:
  • Eighteen (18) years of recent specialized experience
  • Major IT Certification AND fourteen (14) years of recent specialized experience
  • Associate’s degree in computer science, information management, or related discipline AND fourteen (14) years of recent specialized experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information management, or related discipline AND ten (10) years of recent specialized experience
  • Master’s degree in computer science, information management, or related discipline AND seven (7) years of recent specialized experience
• IA Technical Level II certification or higher:
  • CCNA‑Security
  • CompTIA CySA+
  • Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP)
  • GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)
  • CompTIA Security+ CE
  • EC‑Council Certified Network Defense (CND)
