German Editor, Crunchyroll News Contract

Join our team to shape the future of anime news in German‑speaking regions. We are looking for an experienced editor to oversee day‑to‑day operations of our German newsroom.

About the Role

Reporting to the Sr. Editor, EMEA and under the Global News Marketing Manager, the German Editor will coordinate translation and localization of Japanese news into German, develop local feature articles, and manage publication of German‑language releases on the Crunchyroll platform.

Core Responsibilities

• Daily translation and localization of news coming out of Japan into German, coordinating with the Crunchyroll News team.
• Develop and write local articles covering anime industry releases and Crunchyroll‑related releases in the region.
• Translate and localize IP‑specific feature articles based on global seasonal support planning.
• Coordinate with internal teams on German‑language‑based releases on the Crunchyroll platform, including EMEA Regional Marketing.
• Upkeep and oversight of the German Crunchyroll News homepage, including house ad banner flights and curation.

About You

• Passionate and very knowledgeable about the anime industry and market.
• 3+ years of journalism and/or creative writing experience.
• Fluent in German and English.
• Familiar with working with third‑party CMS platforms.
• Experienced managing a news website and an editorial calendar.
• (Preferred) N3 or N2‑level Japanese language proficiency.
