About The Role
The German Language DVD and Blu-ray Quality Control Technician is responsible for the review and approval of all scheduled DVD and Blu-ray products authored by Crunchyroll and/or their third-party vendors. This includes ensuring all media file masters are quality controlled and meet the required standards as well as schedule defined by the DVD & Blu-ray Department.

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

• Testing and checking German Language DVD & Blu-ray elements including audio, video, subtitles, credits and programming
• Document issues with precise attention to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills in English
• Communicate with several departments to achieve resolution: DVD & Blu-ray authors, producers, audio, editing, quality control, compression subtitles, translation
• Responsible for identifying errors and verifying correct performance based on existing specifications
• Develop a working knowledge of a variety of job responsibilities on a case-by-case basis

In the role of German Language DVD/Blu-ray Quality Control Technician, you will report to the Supervisor, Collectibles Quality Control.

This is a remote opportunity for applicants based in Germany and ideally close to our Berlin office.

About You

• You are a native German speaker--writing, reading, and speaking German
• You have excellent English language skills--writing, reading, and speaking English
• You have solid proofreading skills
• You have a BA/BS degree
• You have 2+ years of Quality Control experience
• You have an understanding of DVD & Blu-ray menu navigation and programming
• You have knowledge about subtitles and closed captions
• You have knowledge of common video issues such as banding, blocking, and compression-related distortion
• You have knowledge of common audio issues such as loudness, dropouts, pops, clicks, and sync to video
• You have knowledge of common German Language spelling and grammar issues related to credits, titles, and subtitles
• You have a high degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office Word and excel
• You have knowledge of digital streaming and online media
• You have previous video production or post-production experience
• You have knowledge of and a passion for entertainment, animation, and pop culture
