German-Speaking Lawyer (Insurance Industry)

This is a unique opportunity to join the European headquarter of a highly qualitative insurance company and to join an existing team of dispute and claims specialists working on clients based accross Europe.

You will be consulted for any litigation or contentious regulatory matter to review and/or draft a motivated legal response. You will be fully involved in the settlement of litigation and complaints, working closely with the local team and when required external law firms.

Your Responsibilities

• Analyse and handle the complaints and disputes raised by German-based clients, together with the existing team, and when required external lawyers.
• Monitor the evolution of those legal cases, providing regular reports on their evolution and your assessment on the legal risk issues.
• Build relationships that support your disputes work with key project collaborators.
• Identify and develop protocols and guidance notes to improve the efficiency of complaints, litigation, and contentious regulatory management to aid the team, working closely with other team members to deliver these.

Your Profile

• Fully qualified as a German lawyer (you passed successfully the two “Staatsexamen”) with a first successful experience in litigation, finance, insurance, or within banking sector.
• Solid knowledge of the German civil procedure rules and a first experience managing litigation and/or complaints with limited direct supervision.
• Excellent written and spoken communication, easy to interact with and comfortable providing advisory services to executives.
• Open minded, able to demonstrate key behavioral capabilities including teamwork, ownership, agility, proactivity, and innovation with a growth mindset.
