Your responsibilities
As the Global Application Lab Manager (m/f/d), you will take responsibility for leading and developing our international network of Application Labs. In this role, you will define and execute a unified strategic direction while ensuring consistent operational excellence across all global sites.
What you will drive
- Lead and inspire our global Application Lab teams, creating one cohesive strategy that elevates our capabilities worldwide.
- Build a common operational foundation – standardizing workflows, KPIs, best practices, and technical methods across all regions.
- Guide feasibility studies, proofs of concept, and application validations that influence both customer success and future product development.
- Act as a trusted technical partner for our customers, supporting real‑world demonstrations and on‑site application challenges.
- Design and deliver engaging global training programs, and ensure high‑quality technical documentation is continuously maintained.
- Represent ficonTEC on the global stage – at conferences, customer events, and industry forums – to showcase our leadership and the power of our application know‑how.
Your profile
- You hold a degree in physics, engineering, or a similar technical field and are eager to apply your expertise to cutting‑edge photonic technologies.
- With 3–5 years in application engineering, photonics, or another advanced high‑tech domain, you are ready to take the next step into global leadership.
- You bring a solid technical foundation in photonics, optics, or micro‑assembly – ideally paired with experience in automation or modern manufacturing concepts.
- You thrive in international environments and enjoy working closely with customers and colleagues across different regions.
- You have hands‑on experience developing processes, conducting feasibility studies, or leading proof‑of‑concept projects that deliver real results.
- You are a natural leader – capable of motivating, coaching, and guiding technical teams toward shared goals.
- You communicate clearly and confidently, especially when presenting technical content to customers or project partners.
- You think strategically, act analytically, and know how to harmonize processes while resolving complex technical challenges.
- You work independently, stay organized, and maintain your drive even under pressure – bringing flexibility and resilience to a fast‑moving environment.
- Willingness to travel internationally (up to 30% of total work activity).
