Global BD Excellence Senior Manager – Factory Flow

BD is seeking a passionate and results‑driven professional to join our global Operational Excellence (OPEX) community. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented, highly motivated, and positive individual to make a meaningful impact by driving change and continuous improvement across our global network.

About The Role

Reporting to the Associate Director, Global BD Excellence, the Global BD Excellence Senior Manager – Factory Flow will lead initiatives that foster a culture of operational and customer excellence. You will champion Continuous Improvement (CI) and implement sustainable performance enhancements across quality, delivery, cost, and safety.

Main Responsibilities

  • Mentor factory teams on BD Excellence, focusing on external and internal benchmarking and developing a zero‑loss approach to optimize quality, delivery, and cost while enhancing safety.
  • Develop capability through components and component teams to establish fundamentals of excellence in safety, quality, and reliability; guide sites to ensure resources and priorities align with these fundamentals.
  • Manage implementation of BD Excellence components, enhancing capability development and aligning resources across functions to achieve continuous improvement objectives.
  • Expand BD Excellence capability to support sites in a multi‑year cost‑to‑win strategy, focusing on problem‑solving, loss awareness, and sustainable loss elimination.
  • Mentor associates in continuous improvement methodologies within manufacturing areas, emphasizing Lean Workplace and Factory Flow components.
  • Assist plant BD Excellence teams in outlining Factory Flow and Lean Workplace Strategy, monitoring metrics, and achieving efficiencies in internal logistics.
  • Outline the roadmap for Lean Workplace and Factory Flow components.
  • Facilitate and lead breakthrough Kaizen events and bootcamps to realize targeted performance improvements.
  • Conduct on‑site mentoring and assessments of Kaizen activities; develop governance to track project and saving status.
  • Support site leadership in crafting a strategic vision and aligning critical metrics top‑down and bottom‑up.
  • Support Lean Flow Centers of Excellence; develop standards, guidelines, and procedures to maintain critical metrics and visibility of global component impact.
  • Collaborate with BD Excellence Business Units and other functional departments to develop projects, solutions, and procedures.
  • Lead multiple teams and projects to desired results, prioritize cost‑savings projects, and manage them to completion.
  • Work together to devise and implement a strategic plan for ongoing improvement in Factory Flow (Internal Logistics) and Lean Workplace.
  • Champion barrier‑removal by addressing issues promptly and challenging the status quo to provide efficient solutions to customers.

Preferred Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience implementing Lean and Six Sigma business systems; Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
  • Demonstrated passion for safety, customer‑centricity, and operational excellence.
  • At least 7 years of manufacturing experience; leadership background in a plant setting desirable.
  • Strong understanding of the interaction between operational excellence and customer service.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with people at all levels.
  • Strong track record in project or program management.
  • Experience managing production systems; production‑system certification or acknowledgment preferred.
  • Proficiency in BD Excellence Factory Flow and Lean Workplace (time‑study techniques, 5S, 5T, Kanban, 5S, 5T, supermarket systems).
  • Expertise in problem‑solving and experience training/mentoring others.
  • Flexible; encouraged travel up to 70%.
  • Proficient in English; Spanish is a plus.

Salary

€80,700 – €145,300 annually.
