Global Head of HVDC Engineering - Germany

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to lead our global HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) engineering team. As the Global Head of HVDC Engineering, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of HVDC projects worldwide. You will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure the successful execution of projects, while also providing technical leadership and guidance to the engineering team.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the global HVDC engineering team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
• Develop and implement HVDC engineering strategies to meet project objectives and timelines. Oversee the design and optimization of HVDC systems, including converter stations, transmission lines, and control systems.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless project execution and delivery.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in HVDC technology, and incorporate best practices into project designs. Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the HVDC engineering team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in HVDC engineering, with a proven track record of leading large‑scale projects. In‑depth knowledge of HVDC systems, including converter technology, power electronics, and control systems.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
• Proven ability to think strategically and solve complex engineering challenges.
