Golang Software Engineer (m/f/d) - Payments & Checkout

Join our Shopping Experience team and help shape the payment and checkout journey for millions of customers. As a Golang Backend Engineer (m/f/d) , you will design, build, and maintain scalable backend services that power seamless, reliable, and secure shopping experiences. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful features with speed and confidence.

We work with a modern tech stack: Go, AWS (ECS, Lambda, SQS, RDS, DynamoDB), GraphQL, Docker, NewRelic, CircleCI. Collaboration across engineering, product, and design is at the heart of our culture.

Your Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Tier-1 backend services for Cart, Checkout, and Payment systems
• Integrate with third-party payment gateways and APIs to enable seamless payment processing
• Ensure security, reliability, and GDPR compliance
• Collaborate with Frontend teams to build GraphQL APIs and ensure smooth integration across platforms (Web & Apps)
• Take end-to-end ownership of your work: build a concept, implement, test, deploy, monitor, and iterate
• Troubleshoot live issues, identify root causes, and deliver fixes to prevent recurrence
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, adhering to best practices and coding standards
• Continuously improve our systems, tools, and development practices
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions

Your Profile

• Proven experience in Backend software development with a focus on Go
• Competence in building and maintaining robust, scalable services and APIs
• Knowledge of payment systems, gateways, and checkout processes
• Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure, ideally AWS
• Understanding of relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL, DynamoDB)
• Quality-focused mindset with a collaborative and eager-to-learn attitude
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
